“We are made of many threads, brought together which compose our identity and experience.” – Jody Rallah
Spend the day connecting your hands with fibres for a weaving circle. Guided by yuggera and biri - First Nation Australian Artist Jody Rallah.
Whether you're a seasoned expert or a complete beginner, this is a process based and sensory workshop experience where you will engage with the fibres in hands-on practice, learn about First Nations fibre arts, and make your own mini basket and necklace that Jody will guide you on.
Enjoy some kai and tea as you make. We are collaborating with local Māori tea maker Timmy Smith, who will provide a tea tasting sensory experience and insight into the teas.
Please feel free bring along your own textile threads and/or organic matter so long as it is meaningful to you, and we will weave these elements into your basket.
