Unfolding Impermanence

This concertina paper sculpture is an exploration of transformation - of materials, form, and perception where decay becomes beauty, and the paper holds sculptural strength. Made from recycled papers and rust-dyed textures, its burnt edges evoke impermanence. It’s manipulability into shifting configurations reveals something different each time.

Artist: Marion Mason and Ann Bell
Materials: Rusted upcycled paper, including Pianola roll, silk kimono wrappings, altered National Geographics, Concertina - pearlised card, handmade paper, burnt edges, dyed linen thread
