Taking up the Challenge: Wero

I have focussed on the symbolism found in the picking up of the chosen object placed in the wero, which signifies an agreement to a peaceful coming together. In rongoā Māori, kawakawa is known for its healing properties in treating inflammation, abrasions, and irritations.

Artist: Amanda Hewlett
Materials: Acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 600mm x 900mm
