Danielle Fillion

Danielle creates beautiful small paintings and greeting cards featuring Waiheke scenes and flowers.

Danielle Fillion was born in Paris and began to paint in New Caledonia in 1986 under the instruction of a famous Indonesian artist living on the island. One year later, she held her first exhibition, concentrating on well-known landscape and marine life. She continued to paint in New Caledonia and later on Réunion Island where she worked for two years. Danielle also illustrated a book for children in Noumea and started publishing many cards.

In 1995 Danielle moved to Waiheke Island with her family, where she enjoys painting "on the spot," especially in front of the magic of the sea and the native trees. She is happy to paint flowers and birds. Her paintings are inspired by the French tradition
