Sally Simons

Auckland-based artist Sally Simons has been painting landscapes and still life themes since 1997, when she began painting and exhibiting.

The subjects of her recent Landscapes are Auckland’s wild West Coast and the Waitakare Ranges and quiet, contemplative studies of the East Coast estuaries of Coromandel and Northland.

Her Still Life paintings also tend to be quiet and contemplative studies. They lovingly portray objects of daily use that she paints time and again, allowing changes in light to reveal their distinct characters and relationships.
