I am fascinated by the potential of texture, movement, colour, and line. Thus Rothko, Agnes Martin, Renoir, Titian, Turner, Delacroix, Rubens. The mediums are important. Oils due to the ability manipulate the end result. Soft pastels due to Degas’s late works in that medium My output is mainly portraits, seascapes and landscapes.

I am mostly self-taught, with a BA in art history from Auckland University, many years ago.
