Walker & Hall Waiheke Art Award

The selector for the 2009 exhibition was Dr Ed Hanfling. He has selected from over 70 entries, the finalist's exhibition. The awards are then decided from the exhibition works. The Gala Event and Award Ceremony are a feature of Labour Weekend on Waiheke. This year guests were treated to a fabulous presentation of Body Art by the award winning team directed by Mem Bourke of the NZ Body Art Awards. Ed Hanfling announced the award winners at the ceremony the following evening. This years Supreme Award went to Auckland artist Barbara Von Seida for her acrylic work 'Te Mata'. The Elizabeth Grierson Merit Award and Zinny Douglas Merit award were presented to Jennifer Mason for her photographic piece 'Proud' and the second Zinni Douglas Merit Award went to Lorraine Webb for her watercolour 'Nets and Horizons' The exhibition is open until 16th November, come and experience this wonderful thought provoking collection of new works
